Sister Act Tickets on Sale

Gibson Southern Theatre continues their forty-third season with the multiple Tony Award nominated musical Sister Act. Written by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner; with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane. Sister Act debuted on Broadway and is based on one of the most financially successful comedies of the early 1990s by the same title. Vaudeville 2016 Tickets on Sale

Gibson Southern Theatre opens their forty-third theatre season with Vaudeville 2016: Deck the Halls.  Vaudeville is a community favorite production and the single largest event at Gibson Southern High School with 195 students involved this year.  Vaudeville 2016: Deck the Halls centers around the Greene family as they prepare for their last holiday season in the family home they have known for the last thirty years.  The production runs December 2-4, 2016 and is directed by Adam Bledsoe with assistance from Lisa O’Neal and Lyndsi Gruszewski.

Gibson Southern Theatre is hosting a Breakfast with Santa on November 5, 2016 at Carriage Inn in Haubstadt from 8:00-11:00AM.  Join us in your favorite PJ’s for a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, bacon, fruit cup and drink for only $8.00.  Carry-out is also available.

Gibson Southern Theatre closes their forty-second season with the Young Playwrights Project, a program that offers an opportunity for students to write, cast, direct, and produce their own plays. This year’s playwrights include Senior, Makenzie Hart, Juniors, Emma Williams and Rachel Rigsby, and Sophomore, Samuel Gilles.

Apartment C by Makenzie Hart tries to understand how a man’s obstacles in life can change his perspective on his morals. Gibson Southern Theatre continues their forty-second season with Shrek The Musical. Shrek the Musical includes new and old fairy tale creatures that have been loved throughout time. The production runs March 11-13, 2016; it is directed by Adam Bledsoe with assistance from Kathy Parks, Rob Hutchinson, and Lyndsi Gruszewski. Alison Goedde to screen “Fluorescent”

Gibson Southern alumnus Alison Goedde to screen her short film made in Haubstadt, Ind.

FORT BRANCH, Ind. Dec. 10, 2015 — Haubstadt native, Alison Goedde, will be screening her short film titled “Fluorescent” in the Gibson Southern High School Auditorium on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m.

This past September, Goedde brought her film crew from Nashville, Tenn. to Haubstadt to shoot her senior short film project. The crew spent three full days in Haubstadt filming the short and edited it for about three months before submitting the final product … READ MORE

ITS Advances to State with “Bette and Boo”

Gibson Southern Theatre’s I.T.S. Troup #5623 competed at the regional level on October 26, 2013 with a 45 minute cutting of Christopher Durang’s “The Marriage of Bette and Boo”.  The conference was held at Madison Consolidated High School in Madison, IN.  Auditions date back to early September 2013 along with auditions for our spring musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

ITS Heading to 2013 State Conference

This is your chance to see a cutting of Gibson Southern Theatre’s Legally Blonde: The Musical one more time!  Come support Gibson Southern Theatre’s I.T.S. Troupe as they travel to the Indiana Thespian 2013 State Conference at Vincennes University this Friday January 25, 2013 at 9:45 PM EST (8:45 PM CST – “Fort Branch time”).

This past December 2012, Gibson Southern Theatre’s I.T.S. Troupe competed at the annual regional competition in Brown County, Indiana with an adaptation of the newly released hit Legally Blonde: The Musical.
