Two Students Attend ITS State

This past weekend seniors River Epperson and Jazlynn Cates attended the 2020 International Thespian Society State Competition. Even though the regional show that troupe #5623 competed with a few months back did not advance to state, the two decided they still wanted to attend the conference.

Friday night the two participated in a stage combat workshop where they learned how to fight properly on stage with swords. Saturday was full of workshops, teaching things like improv and yoga to help focus and learn lines. MATILDA Dancers Get “Loud”

Week-three of Matilda rehearsals kicked off the start of choreography for the dancers. With the help of our choreographer Loni Prater and her daughter, we were able to start working on the exciting and thrilling dance numbers that take place many times throughout the show. Gibson Southern High School senior Emma Greene dropped jaws this past weekend at Gibson Southern Theatre Department’s production of “It’s A Good Vaudeville, Charlie Brown.” In one of Greene’s performances, she painted a portrait of one of her inspirations, Elton John. Not only did she complete the painting in only a matter of minutes, but painted with the canvas upside down.
