What is your cast role or crew position in Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical? I play the keyboard in the pit for MATILDA THE MUSICAL.
What is your favorite Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical quote, song or scene — and why? My favorite song in the musical is “Bruce.” This is because I really love how the music sounds along with the ensemble singing. It is also an interesting part of the musical.
How many Gibson Southern Theatre productions (including Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical) have you been a part of while in high school? I have been a part of 5 Gibson Southern Theatre productions while in high school. They are the 2018 & 2019 Vaudevilles, Cinderella, Newsies, and Matilda.
What is your favorite role, act, or show that you have been a part of in high school? My favorite act that I have been apart of was the act Emma Greene and I performed during the 2019 Vaudeville. Our act was called “Orange Glasses.” It was a ton of fun and I’m thankful to have shared that experience with my best friend.
Do you have a favorite story from your time spent in theatre? It is not a particular story; however, I really enjoyed when people came up to Emma and I after the show and told us that our act was their favorite. It felt like all of our hard work paid off.
What are your plans after high school? After high school, I plan to study psychology in college to be able to work with children in the future.
What words of advice do you have for those thinking about joining Gibson Southern Theatre? For those thinking of joining in Gibson Southern Theatre, I say to go for it and give it your all. Many people seem to overlook it and miss out on amazing opportunities to make friends and memories. High School is short, so it’s important to try and experience new things.
