Each summer, class representatives and officers from ITS Troupe #5623 visit local childcare center Little Miracles. To start off our visit, we went over the basics of theatre with the kids, and explained our two shows we put on every year at GSTD. Next, we talked about each of the different crews and what they do, as well as set construction, costumes, hair, and stage makeup. This was a great opportunity to show how there’s a place for everyone in theatre, even if they’re not a performer. The kids were really engaged with the topics we were discussing and asked lots of great questions!
After we finished talking, we played some improv games with the kids. They were great listeners, and it was so fun to see them break out of their comfort zones and try something new! To conclude our visit, us reps and officers went to Dairy Queen, where we had a great discussion about what some of our plans were for the upcoming season’s Vaudeville 2026! We had such a great time, and we can’t wait for this next season to start!
