Week 3 of The SpongeBob Musical rehearsals are wrapping up as of this week! Some key milestones of this week’s rehearsals have been hard work on new sets and scene work. Additionally, new relationships and friendships have been made and strengthened throughout this week’s rehearsals.

This week, everyone has truly started to settle into the rehearsal schedule and truly become their characters by bringing them to life. These students work hard everyday every week by putting in the hours after school until 6:30 Tuesday and Thursday as well as until 6 on Wednesday. Excitement, energy, good attitudes have been brought to rehearsal every day this week making it a thrilling week of rehearsals down in Bikini Bottom.

Creativity has come to life this week at Gibson Southern Theater. Some key set pieces have been built including Squidward’s boat and Mr. Krabs safe. Additionally, teams of painters have been painting the flowers to decorate the stage in Bikini Bottom and exotic costumes are underway.

A fun tradition continued every year in Gibson Southern Theater is called cubby notes. Each day after rehearsal each student writes a couple of nice things on a small piece of paper to one of their castmates. This tradition keeps the positivity going throughout the process, lifting each other up and getting to know each other better.

The Spongebob Musical will be performed in Gibson Southern Theater’s very own Bikini Bottom March 13-15, 2026. The fun and creativity is just getting started, don’t miss out on this year’s spring musical!
