What is your favorite Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical quote, song or scene — and why? My favorite song is “Revolting Children” because it’s such a catchy song and the dance is phenomenal.
How many Gibson Southern Theatre productions (including Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical) have you been a part of while in high school? I have been apart of 10 GSTD productions during high school.
What is your favorite role, act, or show that you have been a part of in high school? My favorite show I have been apart of in high school has been Newsies.
Do you have a favorite story from your time spent in theatre? My favorite story about theatre has been the night that some of the theatre kids and I, instead of going to Hooters after the opening show, we went to Denny’s. It was a night full of laughter and my new favorite word came about, spew. Former Spotlight Opt, Alex Harper, had us all rolling whenever he said that. It has been a memory that has stuck with me since Cinderella.
What are your plans after high school? My plans after high school are to go to college at USI to be a Radiology Technician.
What words of advice do you have for those thinking about joining Gibson Southern Theatre? For kids wanting to join Gibson Southern Theatre, please do it. This is like a family. The department is so close and we lift each other up. It has been a huge part of who I am today and I don’t regret signing up my freshman year.
