What is your favorite Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical quote, song or scene — and why? My favorite songs in the musical are Bruce and the Acrobat Stories because of the awkward chords. They sound cool.
How many Gibson Southern Theatre productions (including Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical) have you been a part of while in high school? I have been a part of 4 theatre productions: Cinderella, Newsies, It’s a Good Vaudeville Charlie Brown, and Matilda.
What is your favorite role, act, or show that you have been a part of in high school? I love being in the orchestra and performing Orange Glasses.
Do you have a favorite story from your time spent in theatre? The first time we performed Orange Glasses for the other people in practice, Macy and I were super nervous. No one had ever done a speed painting and the song was difficult, plus it was in front of our peers. When we finished; however, everyone cheered and applauded. It was the best feeling.
What are your plans after high school? I am planning to study aviation and work towards being a commercial pilot.
What words of advice do you have for those thinking about joining Gibson Southern Theatre? It is a fun experience. If you try one position in the production and don’t like it, TRY ANOTHER: crew, cast, and orchestra. You will miss being apart of something this fun.
