What is your cast role or crew position in Disney’s NEWSIES? Dancer
What is your favorite Disney’s NEWSIES quote, song or scene — and why? My favorite scene is Act I Scene VIII when the Newsies sing ‘Seize the Day,’ it’s such a motivating song with many inspirational quotes in it. Some of my favorite quotes from this song are: “Courage cannot erase our fear. Courage is when we face our fear.” and “And say to the others who did not follow through, you’re still our family, and we will fight for you.” These lines are so inspirational and heartfelt.
How many Gibson Southern Theatre productions (including Disney’s NEWSIES) have you been a part of while in high school? 3 – Vaudeville 2016: Deck the Halls, Vaudeville 2018: Under the Big Top, & Disney’s NEWSIES
What is your favorite role, act, or show that you have been a part of in high school? Being a dancer this year in Disney’s NEWSIES has been such an amazing experience that has been a lot different than being in Vaudeville. Since the full cast for the musical is together throughout the whole process of rehearsing and work days, I feel more a part of this family than ever before.
Do you have a favorite story from your time spent in theatre? My favorite story from my time spent in theatre is when I made a card for all of the cast of Newsies to sign for our choreographer Loni for her birthday.
What are your plans after high school? My plans after high school are to attend the University of Evansville majoring in Computer Science.
What words of advice do you have for those thinking about joining Gibson Southern Theatre? Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! No matter if you decide to join a production as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior, you will be welcomed by this theatre family with open arms.
